Adding a builder to the OSC garage. Mason Kelly takes over the short-track program starting Week 12.

The short answer on why: I can build Cup, Xfinity, Truck, and road-course files at the level the shop expects. I can build short-track files at a level that's good enough most weeks. Mason builds short-track files at a level that's better than mine. The shop is a setup shop and the only thing that matters is what comes out of the package, so this is the right hire.

Background

Mason has been building Late Models and Tour Mods since 2019. He raced real-world short-track in his teens before moving to iRacing full-time, and his data discipline shows in his files. We've been talking since the All-American 400 in March and he ran four files for me as a tryout - Hickory Late Model, Concord Late Model, two Tour Mods. All four were better baselines than my equivalents.

He's been quietly running the Tour Mod file you've seen in the shop the last two weeks. The Pace Report from Watkins last month is also his.

What He'll Build

Starting Week 12:

  • All North Wilkesboro, Hickory, Concord, Bowman Gray, Five Flags, South Boston Late Model files.
  • Tour Mod Series weekly files.
  • Any short-track special-event setups (snowballs, all-star races, fall classics).

He won't be touching Cup, Xfinity, Truck, or road-course. I keep those. He's also not on the eNASCAR Coke Qualifying Program build team - that stays Cup-focused and I'm running it solo.

What This Means for Subscribers

Nothing changes on subscription pricing. The All Access tier gets you everything either of us builds. Per-series tiers stay the same - the Late Model & Tour Mod tier is where most of Mason's work lands. Mason is on the byline for the files he builds, and his name shows in the Dispatch posts when he writes one.
